The VFW’s NVS team is a free resource for veterans, service members, military families and survivors. Through a nationwide network of VFW Accredited Service Officers, the organization helps veterans:
- navigate the VA claims process;
- prepare and file claims;
- gather supporting documentation;
- pursue appeals; and
- access programs tied to compensation, pension, education, rehabilitation, employment and more.
In 2025 alone, VFW’s NVS team helped recover $16.2 billion in compensatory awards for more than 608,000 veterans.

What sets the program apart is not only its expertise but also its perspective. VFW Accredited Service Officers understand the process and the people going through it.
