Could you manage a crisis scenario?
When disasters happen, whether natural, man-made or technological, emergency managers are the coordinators, relief suppliers and responders. The success of any crisis response depends on effective leadership behind the scenes and in the field.
Central Michigan University prepares you to join this high-demand field of emergency management with the Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in integrated homeland security. Offered completely online, the program allows you to take one eight-week course at a time and still complete your master’s degree in two years or less.
The program focuses on supervisory skills that address all aspects of crisis management. You learn how to prepare an effective response when faced with natural or man-made catastrophes and study the allocation of physical, personnel and financial resources during and after the event.
Your CMU instructors have years of experience working in this vital field. Their guidance, along with the input of fellow students serving in agencies in the public and private sector around the world, will prepare you for a rewarding career in the military and provide a strong transition to civilian life.
The MSA also provides a solid foundation in administration. These courses teach you how to allocate budgets, handle organizational dynamics, anticipate human behavior, and develop strategies based on research and analysis of past successes.
Graduate certificate in integrated homeland security
This program also is available as a six-course graduate certificate. You can learn new skills, gain credentials and upgrade your résumé for a career in homeland security. Courses from the graduate certificate also transfer to the full MSA degree should you decide to continue on to your master’s program.
